Marketing Associate (Summer Position)

Dates: June 11- August 24
Hours: 40/week
Compensation: Unpaid, internship credit available

The Ohio Athletics Marketing Department is seeking 5 undergraduate students for its summer internship. The internship runs from June 11 until August 24, with the possibility of continuing work in the office throughout the academic year. Former interns have gone on to work for dozens of NCAA Division I athletic departments, professional sports organizations and major corporations.

The selected candidates will be highly motivated and willing to put in the energy and effort required to become an integral part of the marketing department’s summer operations. Candidates are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, though many weeks these hours may be greatly exceeded. While an unpaid opportunity, these positions will allow students to immerse themselves into a Division I FBS athletic department and gain an understanding of the duties required of a full-time marketing administrator.

Duties of the position include:
- Development and cultivation of marketing plans for the Ohio Football, Volleyball, Field Hockey, Soccer, Men's Basketball and Women’s Basketball
- Creation of sales strategies for Ohio Football, with a strong emphasis on season ticket retention and new account creation
- Manage, create and track sales databases
- Develop call scripts, as well as call-flow, objection and closing strategies
- Direct prospecting and lead-generation efforts for football season, individual game and group sales
- Planning of football game promotions, including Band Day, Bobcat Draw Play, Town Days and Youth Football Day
- Planning and activation of Bobcat Student Park and Pepsi Tailgreat Park
- Develop strategies to increase memberships in the O Zone and Bobcat Student Park
- Other duties as assigned
